Great news; Nansen Primary and Rockwood Academy, formerly Park View, have both been removed from Special Measures and are now rated "good" by Ofsted.

Three of our secondary schools in Hodge Hill (Saltley, International and Rockwood), have all appointed new Head Teachers over the last few months.
Over the last fortnight it's been a pleasure to drop by and meet them all - to ask what I can do to help them succeed.
Our teachers and pupils are working incredibly hard but I'm determined that we have the best school results that we can get.

Byrne challenges Nicky Morgan to add 'compassion' to the official list of British values
Liam Byrne MP today challenged the Education Secretary Nicky Morgan to add 'compassion' to the official list of British values celebrated nationally and promoted in the nation's schools.
Speaking in response to the news that a young child of 10 at Parkfield Community School was reported to the Police on suspicion of 'terrorist tendencies', Liam Byrne MP said:
"I am asking for a full account from the school and police. This story underlines just how hard it is for teachers to know how to put into practice the sweeping prevent duties which the Department for Education has introduced."

The number of pupils at Park View Academy who achieved three or more A* or A grades rose to 27%, up 6% from 2014. 63% of students achieved A*-C in English language, with 66% achieving A*-C for Mathematics.

I have received the below planning notice from Birmingham City Council regarding Starbank Primary School.
The proposal is, “Retention of existing single storey and 2-storey temporary buildings and a single storey inflatable building and installation of a new first floor interlinking temporary building to provide further classroom facilities and provision of new
substation.”

Yesterday Ofsted published its latest advice letter to the Secretary of State for Education on the latest position with schools in Birmingham (including Park View and other Hodge Hill schools) and Tower Hamlets.
The advice note sets out the progress being made at the schools, as well as highlighting wider safeguarding concerns which have been brought to light as a result of Ofsted’s ongoing monitoring of the situation.
